Files

File uploads through an HTML form: allowed types, sizes, encrypted storage in the EU and download links.

<form action="https://mailiy.com/api/submit" method="POST" enctype="multipart/form-data">
  <input type="hidden" name="access_key" value="YOUR-KEY">
  <input type="email" name="email" required>
  <input type="file" name="attachment" accept=".pdf,.jpg,.png">
  <button type="submit">Send</button>
</form>

Files need enctype="multipart/form-data" on the form. Each submission takes up to 5 files with 10 MB in total. Allowed are PDF, images (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC), text and CSV, and Office files (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, ODT, ODS, ODP). We refuse HTML, SVG, archives and files with macros with file_rejected, and so we do with files whose content does not match their extension.

The email and the webhook carry a download link for each file, valid for 30 days. In the dashboard you find the files with their submission and all together on the website page, where you can delete single files to free storage. The submission stays. The CSV export has a files column with the links. We store them encrypted and delete them with the submission. If retention is set to “Don't store”, we attach the files to the email and keep nothing. The overview shows how much storage your plan has. Once it is full, we answer storage_full.
